Caligula’s Mother is a visual and auditory record of a physical investigation of contemporary life and its relationship with antiquity. Set to a Trap melody of appropriated components, voice and song project sentiment onto stone. Calling upon the mother of Emperor Gaius of Rome, we showcase her role as the maker of a powerful man. Women produce men and serve as the origin of their learned power. The marble relics possess the aura of their epoch and refuse to be unseen. The cyclical energy of the universe merges the past and present into one continuous social sculpture.
