Baptism Diptych depicts the act of my baptism into the Vega family. The day after we first met, Verónica placed her hand over her burning altar and blessed a mixture of red dye and holy water from Chile, which she used to draw a cross on my chest. Immediately after, she turned to her daughter and said that we were equals.
